The museum honours our artisans' craftsmanship by exhibiting their breathtaking creations. The museum is divided into two sections: a display area and a live section. The display portion has exhibits featuring handicrafts and handlooms from around the state, while the live component includes an open-air theater and distinct workshop zones.
Kala Bhoomi, which spans 12.68 acres in Pokhariput, is built as a one-stop shop for Odisha Handicrafts and Handlooms. The site offers a remarkable array of additional facilities in addition to its 10 galleries, 8 of which are accessible to the general public. The galleries include Terracotta, Traditional Paintings, Stone and Wood Carving, Metal Crafts, Natural Crafts, Tribal Crafts, Pre-weaving Techniques and Cocoons, and Handlooms. Aside from it, there is an Outdoor Amphitheatre, a specific workshop space, a children's play area, an outdoor canteen, and a souvenir store. The museum complex includes courtyards dedicated to tribal living and temple architecture, as well as a Kuldevi temple.
