Situated at the heart of Bhubaneswar, near the AG Sqaure, the IG Park, as it is popularly called, is a lush green and serene park for morning walkers to find peace of mind and breathe fresh air. In the mornings, people can be seen practicing yoga, jogging and enjoying their time with nature. With well maintained beautiful gardens, the park offers more than greenery and clean and pure air. It is of historical importance as the eminent political leader and late Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi delivered her last speech here. A life size statue of the leader can be seen at the park. Spread over more than 10.6 acres, it is located close to the Odisha assembly. Musical fountains, mango trees, rose and marigold gardens dot the park that also hosts Music in the Park musical concerts with Indian classical instrumental and vocal staged in the evenings making it a heavenly experience that soothe the soul. The Biju Patnaik Park (formerly Forest Park) near Capital Hospital has become another place of attraction for visitors besides IG Park, with similar facilities.
