One of the many luxuriant green covers in the city, the park is named after one of Odisha's most dynamic leaders and former Chief Minister Late Shri. Biju Patnaik. The park is spread over 23 acres and is dotted with many acitivity corners like the childrens corner, the open air gym and running tracks. One can choose from three different kind of tracks in the park, the clay track, the tiled track and the concrete track for their jogg or walk. The track measures 1.25 KM.
The statue of former Chief Minister late Shri. Biju Patnaik is in the middle of the park. It was unveiled in 5th March 2002 on the occassion of his birth anniversary by his son and current Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik and the then Union Minister for steel & mines Shri. Ramvilas Paswan
The park is a popular spot for fitness freaks and citizens alike. Early morning and evening's are the busiest time at the park, one can yoga clubs, laughing clubs etc which are formed by the neitizens operating within the park premises. The park is equipped with public amenities like benches, toilets for ladies, gents and differently abled people.
The three water bodies and the beutiful amnicured gardens provide a soothing environment within the humdrum of city life.
