This small yet beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is worshipped as Megheswar (literally meaning the Lord of Clouds). The unique characteristics of this temple is that along with Mukteswar it’s the only temple in the city with a sculpted arch.
It is believed that the temple was built by King Anangabhima Deva II of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, at the insistence of Swapnesvara who was the brother-in-law of formers’ brother King Rajaraja.
The temple is built on the Saptaratha style of temple architecture, beautiful carvings of danseuse, animals, birds and flowers adorn the walls of the temple. The temple is located near Pandav Nagar on the Tankapani Road.
